Provincial Offences
Effective December 4, 2000 the Region of Durham assumed responsibility for the delivery of administrative, prosecutorial and court support functions transferred from the Province of Ontario under the Provincial Offences Act. These functions have become part of the Legal Department. The Provincial Offences Act sets out the processes to be followed for administering and prosecuting charges laid by police and other enforcement agencies under provincial statutes and municipal by-laws.
The Provincial Offences Court offices are located at 605 Rossland Rd. E., Whitby with the administration office and courtrooms on the lower level and prosecution office on the first floor.
Inez Diamond-Gleeson is the Manager of Court Services and Grant Kelly is the Manager of Prosecution Services.
