Tuberculosis (TB)

The role of Durham Region Health Department (DRHD) in the prevention and control of TB in our community includes:

  • Managing suspected and confirmed cases of active tuberculosis
  • Providing Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) for people taking medication for active TB
  • Conducting contact management for active cases of TB
  • Management of Latent TB Infection, including client educationTuberculosis (TB)
  • Providing Immigration Medical Surveillance
  • Providing education and guidance to the public, health care providers and other facilities such as long term care home and correctional facilities.
