The seasonal flu vaccine is available to anyone 6 months of age and older during the fall and winter at:

  • Most health care providers
  • Walk-in clinics and community health centres
  • Participating pharmacies (for individuals 5 years and older)
  • Some workplaces
  • Visit the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care website to find a flu clinic near you.

If you do not have OHIP or a health care provider, please call 1-800-841-2729 to speak with a public health nurse.

What types of flu vaccine are available?

  • Trivalent (TIV) vaccines protect against 3 strains of influenza virus (2 influenza A and 1 influenza B strain). TIV is free for anyone over 6 months of age.
  • Quadrivalent (QIV) vaccines protect against 4 strains (2 influenza A and 2 influenza B strains). Children and adolescents are more likely to experience influenza B infections than adults. QIV is free for children 6 months to 17 years of age.
  • FluMist® is a flu vaccine given by nasal spray, it is free for children ages 2 years through 17 years old.
