Well Water Safety

Tap WaterDurham Region Health Department has developed a resource package to assist well owners in maintaining the quality of their well water. This resource package will help well owners understand basic principles of ground water, well construction, well maintenance strategies, and methods of diagnosing and resolving well water issues.

In this package there is also specific information on types of wells and their construction, water sampling procedures, well maintenance and water treatment strategies.

The information provided in this package will only serve as a guide for well owners and is not intended to address all individual health concerns.
