The nurses in the Injury Prevention program are prepared to assist you with any question you may have regarding choosing, installing and using infant, child and booster car safety seats.

We can provide information about:

• What type of car seat is best for your child
• Tips for installing a car seat in your car
• How to contact the manufacturer of your child's car seat
• The current laws on infant, child and booster car seats

  As of September 1, 2005 it is mandatory for anyone transporting children to make sure children are properly secured in either an infant seat, child seat, or booster seat.

2010 Car Seat Safety Check Event Dates

REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Only pre-booked vehicles will be accepted at all clinics. If you have not made an appointment you will be turned away.

• Clinics are provided by the car seat coalition members

• PLEASE ensure that car seats are installed prior to your scheduled event. The clinics are car seat inspection clinics NOT installation clinics.

• Appointments cannot be booked more than one month prior to an event date.

• Dates, times, and locations may be changed and/or cancelled at any time. It is your responsibility to check the site for clinic changes 24 hours prior to coming out to the event.

A new schedule comes out January of each year
Car safety seat checks are NOT done at Durham Regional Police Divisions
