Almost all cases of Tetanus and Diphtheria occur in adults
who have been only partially immunized
or not immunized at all.
- Adults need a booster for Tetanus & Diphtheria* every 10 Years
- Booster shots are available at physicians’ offices & walk in clinics

*For adults who have not previously received a dose of acellular pertussis vaccine, it is recommended that a single diphtheria-tetanus (Td) booster be replaced by the combined diphtheria-tetanus-acellular pertussis (dTap) vaccine.
