Construction on Bloor Street in Oshawa will close eastbound lanes

WHITBY, ON August 28, 2014

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that all eastbound lanes will be closed on Bloor Street (Regional Road 22), between Simcoe Street and Ritson Road in Oshawa, for approximately nine weeks.

WHEN:

From Sept. 8 until mid-November.

WHERE:

Bloor Street, between Simcoe Street and Ritson Road in the City of Oshawa, will be reduced to one westbound lane only. Detour routes will be posted.

WHY:

To permit the construction of a new watermain.

NOTE:

Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained, with the exception of a two- to three-day period when construction is directly in front of a driveway. During this time, a safe area to park and walk will be provided. The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for pedestrian safety and for the safety of the construction workers.
