Eastbound lane reopens on Bloor Street in Oshawa, construction work continues

WHITBY, ON October 07, 2014

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that Bloor Street (Regional Road 22), between Simcoe Street and Ritson Road in Oshawa, will reopen to both eastbound and westbound traffic on Oct. 8.

WHEN:

Beginning Oct. 8.

WHERE:

Bloor Street, between Simcoe Street and Ritson Road in the City of Oshawa, will reopen with one lane in each direction.

WHY:

Eastbound lanes were closed for approximately nine weeks. Watermain construction, road reconstruction and widening, sidewalk construction and traffic signal replacements are ongoing.

NOTE:

All businesses on Bloor Street remain open, and safe areas to park and walk will be provided for the duration of construction work.

The Region realizes that the work is disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for pedestrian safety and for the safety of construction workers.
