Applications being accepted for a community member

WHITBY, ON September 18, 2014

Applications are now being accepted from local residents who would like to serve as a community member on the Durham Regional Police Services Board (DRPSB).

WHEN:

Interested residents are requested to submit a letter of interest to The Regional Municipality of Durham, Corporate Services Department, Legislative Services Division by Nov. 14.

Application forms can be obtained from The Regional Municipality of Durham website at www.durham.ca, or by contacting the Legislative Services Division at 905-668-7711 ext. 2012, or by email at clerks@durham.ca.

WHERE:

The appointed community member will be expected to attend monthly meetings, at The Regional Municipality of Durham Headquarters, 605 Rossland Rd. E, Whitby.

WHY:

The DRPSB is the civilian body that governs the management of the police service. The Police Services Act requires that the DRPSB include one community member, appointed by a resolution of Regional Council, who is neither a member of Regional Council nor an employee of The Regional Municipality of Durham.
