Construction on Brock Road in Pickering

WHITBY, ON May 7, 2014 – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses of planned construction work on Brock Road (Regional Road 1) in Pickering.

WHEN:

Work will begin the week of May 12, and is scheduled to be complete by mid-September.

WHERE:

Brock Road, from north of Highway 401 to south of Kingston Road (Highway 2), in Pickering.

WHY:

Work includes the widening and resurfacing of Brock Road, as well as modifications to traffic signals and the construction of a multi-use path between Pickering Parkway and Kingston Road.

NOTE:

Brock Road will remain open to traffic. Road resurfacing work will take place at night to minimize traffic flow disruption. Local businesses will remain accessible. Pedestrian access along one side of Brock Road will be maintained at all times.

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for pedestrian safety and for the safety of the construction workers.
