Construction on Simcoe Street North in Oshawa

WHITBY, ON June 24, 2015

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that construction work on Simcoe Street North (Regional Road 2) in Oshawa will require lane restrictions.

WHEN:

Simcoe Street North will be reduced to one northbound lane only (between Arlington Avenue and Rossland Road) beginning July 6, for approximately five weeks. Following this, Simcoe Street North will have one northbound and one southbound lane only (between Greta Street and Rossland Road) until mid-September. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

WHERE:

Simcoe Street North, between Greta Street and Rossland Road, in the City of Oshawa.

WHY:

To replace a watermain and sanitary sewer.

NOTE:

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
