Site-specific Human Health and Ecological
Risk Assessment study to be available
the afternoon of May 15

WHITBY, ON  May 5, 2009 – Residents are advised that information related to the Site-specific Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessment study will not be available during the May 6 meeting of the energy-from-waste Site Liaison Committee (SLC). This report will be available the afternoon of May 15.

WHEN:

Information pertaining to the Site-specific Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessment study will not be available during the EFW SLC meeting on May 6. Rather, residents are invited to review the report on May 15, with a formal presentation to be made during the SLC meeting of May 19.

WHERE:

The next SLC meeting will be held on May 19 at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, located at 2440 King St. W., Bowmanville. Residents are asked to note this location, as SLC meetings are usually held at Regional Headquarters in Whitby.

WHY:

The Site-specific Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessment documentation will be available to the public on Friday, May 15.

NOTE:

As of May 15 at noon, a copy of this site-specific report will be available on the Region’s website (www.durham.ca) and on the study website (www.durhamyorkwaste.ca). Printed copies will also be available in the Regional Clerk's office at The Regional Municipality of Durham Headquarters, located at 605 Rossland Rd. E. in Whitby.
