Buck Winter

  • DAAC member since 2011.
  • Owner/operator of Wintermere Sod Growers in Ajax.
  • Former dairy farmer (converted to sod in 1990).
  • Familiar with the challenges and opportunities of farming near the urban area.

Tom Watpool

  • DAAC member since 2011.
  • Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Guelph.
  • "Farrow to finish" hog operation and 1,200 acres of crops.
  • Continually upgrades education by attending several agriculture seminars each year.

Eric Bowman

  • DAAC Member since 2007.
  • Member of the Clarington Agricultural Advisory Committee.
  • Bachelor of Animal Science from the University of Guelph.
  • Owner and operator of Bowmanview Farms (organic beef) and Gallery on the Farm (art gallery and store).
  • Completed Environmental Farm Plan and Nutrient Management Plan course.
  • Holds organic certification.

John Henderson

  • DAAC member since 2015.
  • Lived in Oshawa since 2003.
  • Raised on a 4th generation mixed farm in Wollaston Township, Hastings County.
  • Graduated from the University of Guelph with a BSc in Agriculture (Resources Management).
  • Farmed for 13 years in the Markham/Pickering area.
  • Worked for the Food Inspection Branch, Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for 25 years; retired in 2011.
  • Married to Joanne for 39 years; have two adult children and one grandchild.

Paul Pistritto

  • DAAC member since 2002.
  • Operates Pistritto’s Farms & Greenhouses (includes vegetables, flowers and plants).
  • Durham Farm Fresh Association member.

Kevin Kemp

  • DAAC member since 2011.
  • Owns and operates several farms in the Township of Scugog.
  • Beef, hog and poultry farmer.
  • Cash crop farmer that provides hay for the horse industry.
  • Executive member of the Durham Cattlemen’s Association.
  • Active member of the Ontario Cattlemen’s Association.

  • Owner/operator of Coxlyn Farms Ltd.

Hubert Schillings

  • DAAC member since 2004.
  • Second generation farmer and part-owner of White Feather Farms Inc.
  • Egg and chicken farmer, grain producer.

Debbie Bath

  • Previous Planning and Economic Development Committee representative on DAAC (2010-2014).
  • Lives on a dairy farm and has experience in the farming industry.
  • On Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority's Board of Directors.

Frazer Puterbough

  • DAAC member since 2007.
  • Bachelor of Animal Science from the University of Guelph.
  • Involved with the 4H Dairy Club in Durham East.
  • Works on the family dairy farm, Altona Lea Holsteins.

Keith Kennedy

  • Raised on a dairy farm in Uxbridge.

  • Retired from Farm Credit Canada (Account Manager):
    • Involved in assessment, approval and ongoing management of agricultural financing.
    • Clients in various agricultural commodities.

Ivan Bacon

  • Grew up on a dairy farm, and has worked on various agricultural operations.

  • Employed as a Farm Manager for 11 years.
  • Employed since 2005 at an insurance company, works with farm clients on a regular basis.

  • DAAC member since 2009.
  • Cash crop farmer (corn, soy, beans).
  • Past President of the Durham Federation of Agriculture.
