Ceremonial tree planting at Regional Headquarters

WHITBY, ON October 05, 2015

The Regional Municipality of Durham, in partnership with Forests Ontario and Raw Materials Company, are participating in a ceremonial tree planting as part of the Durham Five Million Trees Program.

WHAT: Durham Five Million Trees Program Ceremonial Tree Planting

WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 9 a.m.

WHERE: North lawn of Durham Regional Headquarters (outside of Council Chambers), 605 Rossland Rd. E., Whitby

WHY: The Durham Five Million Trees Program was launched in response to the Durham Community Climate Change Local Action Plan. Together, Durham Region and its eight local area municipalities, landowners, companies and community organizations, with support from Forests Ontario and Raw Materials Company, will work to increase forest cover across the region.

NOTE: Roger Anderson, Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer is scheduled to attend, along with Rob Keen, CEO, Forests Ontario; and Cory Graper, Account Executive, Raw Materials Company. Photo opportunities will be available.
