Durham Tourism invites the community to celebrate Culture Days 2016

WHITBY, ON September 15, 2016

Durham Tourism is inviting residents and visitors to participate in Culture Days ΜΆ an interactive, free celebration of local arts and culture, taking place Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.

The three-day national celebration will see hundreds of thousands of artists and cultural organizations, in hundreds of cities and towns across Canada, come together to share their cultural spirit and passion. Many free and interactive events will be held during the celebration, in several communities including Durham Region. Durham residents and visitors are encouraged to explore their creativity, and experience creative expression through the region’s talented artists, musicians, creators, historians and more.

“Here in Durham Region, we have many local artists participating in Culture Days, which is the perfect setting to promote themselves and their businesses,” said Kathy Weiss, Director of Economic Development and Tourism. “Through Culture Days, we celebrate our unique diversity in arts and culture. This event is a great way for the community to come together to share in this diverse creative spirit.”

More than 50 events, throughout all eight local area municipalities, have been registered on the Culture Days Ontario website. For an updated listing of these events, visit http://on.culturedays.ca.

Although the celebration is quickly approaching, Durham Tourism encourages all interested artists, event producers and arts organizations in Durham Region to register their Culture Days event online, both at www.durhamtourism.ca and www.culturedays.ca
