Outdoor water use ban in Newcastle lifted

WHITBY, ON August 11, 2014

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that the mandatory outdoor water restrictions, for municipal water supply users in Newcastle Village and Newtonville, has now been lifted.

WHEN:

Odd-even day lawn watering and other outdoor water use can resume immediately.

WHERE:

The outdoor water use ban affected municipal water supply users in Newcastle Village and Newtonville, in the Municipality of Clarington.

WHY:

The outdoor water use ban was necessary to maintain adequate water supply levels as staff repaired a watermain break.

NOTE:

The Region of Durham thanks residents and businesses for their co-operation in conserving water during the watermain repair. Residents are reminded to practice water conservation all year round; for water conservation tips, visit www.durham.ca/waterconservation.
