Construction on Whites Road bridge in Pickering

WHITBY, ON April 14, 2014 – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses of planned construction work on and around the Whites Road (Regional Road 38) bridge in Pickering.

WHEN:

Work begins the week of April 14, and is scheduled to be complete by the end of November.

WHERE:

Whites Road, from Highway 401 to Bayly Street.

WHY:

Work includes the rehabilitation of the Whites Road bridge, road reconstruction and traffic signal upgrades. Whites Road will remain open to traffic for the majority of the project; however, 15-minute road closures may take place between the hours of 1 and 5 a.m.

NOTE:

The Region realizes that the work will be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for pedestrian safety and for the safety of the construction workers.
