WHITBY, ON April 22, 2015

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that construction on Bloor Street (Regional Road 22), from Merritt Street to east of Ritson Road in Oshawa, will cause lane restrictions.

WHEN:

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of April 27, and is expected to be complete this summer. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

WHERE:

Bloor Street, from Merritt Street to east of Ritson Road, in the City of Oshawa.

WHY:

Work includes road widening, sidewalk replacement, traffic signal replacements and road reconstruction.

NOTE:

Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained, with the exception of a two- to three-day period when construction is in front of a driveway. During this time, safe areas to park and walk will be provided.

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for pedestrian safety and for the safety of the construction workers.
