Construction at Simcoe Street and Coates Road at Oshawa/Scugog border

WHITBY, ON August 14, 2015

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that construction work on Simcoe Street North (Regional Road 2) at the intersection of Coates Road in Oshawa and Scugog, will require lane restrictions.

WHEN:

Work will begin the week of Aug. 17 and is expected to be complete by the end of November. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

WHERE:

Simcoe Street North, from south of the Canadian Pacific Railway to north of Coates Road, in the City of Oshawa and Township of Scugog.

WHY:

Work consists of intersection improvements, culvert and storm sewer replacements, guide rail replacements, roadway illumination, ditching, asphalt replacement and new pavement markings.

NOTE:

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
