Watermain break on Sandringham Drive in Courtice

WHITBY, ON December 02, 2015

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that a watermain break on Sandringham Drive in Courtice has caused the road to be reduced to one lane. In addition, the watermain break has shut down the municipal water supply for residents and businesses in the immediate area, including Dr. Emily Stowe Public School.

WHEN:

Repair work is ongoing and anticipated to be complete by the end of the day.

WHERE:

Sandringham Drive, between the north entrance of Dr. Emily Stowe Public School and Windham Crescent, in Courtice within the Municipality of Clarington.

WHY:

To repair the watermain and road restoration.

NOTE:

The Region is making every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians and work crews.

As a precautionary measure, municipal water supply customers are asked to flush out their systems after the water pressure returns to normal—to do this, turn on a cold water tap only, and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes.
