Construction at Thickson Road and Consumers Drive/Champlain Avenue in Whitby

WHITBY, ON July 30, 2015

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that construction work around the intersection of Thickson Road (Regional Road 26) and Consumers Drive/Champlain Avenue (Regional Road 25) in Whitby will require lane restrictions and nightly road closures.

WHEN:

Work has begun and is expected to be complete by Sept. 4. Daily lane restrictions and overnight road closures (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.) will occur on this section of Thickson Road. The Highway 401 ramps at Thickson Road will be also be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

WHERE:

The intersection of Thickson Road and Consumers Drive/Champlain Avenue, in the Town of Whitby.

WHY:

To complete the placement of surface asphalt. 

NOTE:

The Region realizes that the work will be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
