Durham Region reminds residents of changes to scheduled Blue Box collection during the Victoria Day long

WHITBY, ON May 11, 2015

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to remind Oshawa and Whitby residents of changes to scheduled curbside Blue Box collection due to the upcoming Victoria Day long weekend. 

WHEN:

Changes to the Blue Box collection are in effect from May 18 to 23.

WHERE:

Residents in the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby will temporarily have their collection moved to the following day.

This means that residents with collection scheduled for Monday, May 18 will temporarily have their collection moved to Tuesday, May 19. This shift will continue throughout the week until collection scheduled for Friday, May 22 is moved to Saturday, May 23.

Garbage and green bin collection for Oshawa and Whitby residents is the responsibility of the individual municipalities, not the Region of Durham. These residents are asked to check their waste calendars or contact their local municipality regarding collection of these items during the Victoria Day long weekend.

WHY:

These changes are taking place in observance of Victoria Day.
