Oshawa and Whitby residents reminded of changes to Blue Box collection schedule due to Thanksgiving

WHITBY, ON September 30, 2015

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to remind residents of changes to scheduled curbside Blue Box collection, due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

WHEN:

Changes to the Blue Box collection schedule begin on Monday, Oct. 12 and are in effect until Saturday, Oct. 17.

WHERE:

Residents in the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby are advised that the “day shift” system will be in place for Blue Box collection. This shift will continue throughout the week until collection scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16 is moved to Saturday, Oct. 17.

These residents are asked to check their waste calendars, or contact their local municipality, regarding collection of these items during the Thanksgiving holiday

WHY:

These changes are taking place in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

NOTE:

Residents are reminded to have Blue Box materials at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of collection.  For more information, please visit www.durham.ca/waste or contact the Region of Durham, Works Department at 905-579-5264 (toll-free at 1-800-667-5671) or email waste@durham.ca.
