Water conservation request lifted for Oshawa and Whitby residents

WHITBY, ON April 26, 2016

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents in Oshawa and Whitby (including Brooklin) that water use can return to normal, and thanks them for their water conservation efforts.

WHEN:

Normal water use can resume immediately.

WHERE:

Residents in Oshawa and Whitby (including Brooklin).

WHY:

A water conservation request was implemented to ensure adequate water supply for all essential needs as the Works Department repairs a broken watermain on Thornton Road North.

NOTE:

Residents using Durham Region’s municipal water supply are reminded to help conserve water by observing odd-even day lawn watering beginning in May. For water conservation tips, and information on odd-even lawn watering, please visit www.durham.ca/waterconservation, or call the Region of Durham’s Technical Support Division at 905-668-7711 (toll-free 1-800-372-1102).
