The Regional Municipality of Durham invites older adults (age 55 and up) living in Durham Region, caregivers to aging family members, organizations that work with older adults, residents who want to help shape their community, and local business owners to participate in its Age-Friendly Durham Community Forum on Friday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Deer Creek Golf & Banquet Facility, 2700 Audley Rd. N., Ajax

Feedback on key Regional services, within the context of the World Health Organization age-friendly planning framework, will be gathered at the community forum. The day will include presentations and discussions, displays and information, a vendor fair and lunch.

Please register for this free event by visiting the Age-Friendly Durham Community Forum Eventbrite web page.

The Age-Friendly Durham Community Survey is also open until Friday, Sept. 30. Paper copies of the survey are available by contacting, or at various drop box locations throughout the region.

In June 2015, The Regional Municipality of Durham received provincial funding through Ontario’s Age-Friendly Community Planning Grant Program to support the development of a sustainable, collaborative long-term strategy to meet the needs of Durham’s aging population.
