Health Before Pregnancy Makes a Difference


Many beverages and some foods contain caffeine.  Coffee, tea, cola, energy drinks and chocolate are some sources of caffeine.

Too much caffeine may result in a miscarriage or a low birth weight baby.  Women, who are planning to become pregnant, are pregnant or breastfeeding should limit their caffeine to no more than 300 milligrams per day (e.g. 1 ½ cups, 12 oz, or 355mL of coffee).
