Employment Support

Employment Placement Services

Employment Placement (EP) is a component of Ontario Works that assists individuals in obtaining paid employment. Participants work one-on-one with an employment consultant to design and implement an employment plan. The goal is to market qualified candidates to employers in Durham Region and to assist participants in effectively marketing themselves.

Potential candidates

Recipients of Ontario Works who are “job ready” (e.g. no significant barriers, have a current resume) and are currently seeking employment are considered potential candidates. As a guideline, candidates should have been meaningfully employed or have had an ongoing volunteer position in the last year. Individuals who do not meet these criteria, or who are looking for a career change, would be referred to the Community Placement Program to obtain current experience in their field.
