Child Care and Children's Programs

Help improve early learning and child care in Durham Region

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Children's Services Division is collecting feedback from parents and caregivers of children 0 to 12 years old. We want to know how to improve early learning programs and child care in your neighbourhood.

How can I participate?

Your opinion counts: complete the Early Learning and Child Care Survey

Upon completing the survey by April 3, your name can be entered into a draw to win one of 10 $50 gift cards to the grocery store of your choice.

How will this information be used?

Your privacy is important to us. Survey responses will be grouped together and summarized in a report to ensure no individuals are identified. The opinions you provide will help shape the future of early learning programs and child care in Durham Region.

About the project

Ontario is moving forward with its commitment to integrate and transform child and family programs. Four existing programs, funded by the Ontario government, will be integrated into Ontario Early Years Child and Family Centres (OEYCFCs). OEYCFCs will give families and children access to high-quality early years programs, as well as some programs that meet needs within their community.

Additionally, the Children's Services Division is developing a comprehensive five-year Early Learning and Child Care Service System Management Plan, which will comply with the Ministry of Education guidelines for Consolidated Municipal Service Managers and the new Child Care and Early Years Act.
