Darlington/Clarke Townline Road (D.R.R. 42) – Concession Road 5 to Taunton Road – Clarington – Lane Restrictions

To facilitate road rehabilitation and shoulder work lane restriction and flagging operations will be required. Work has already commenced and is expected to be completed by September.


Altona Road (D.R.R. 27) – South of Stroud’s Lane to Finch Avenue – Pickering – Lane Restrictions

To facilitate culvert replacement, road side ditching and hot-mix paving lane restrictions will be required. Work commenced July 21 and is expected to be completed by the end of August.


Brock Road North (D.R.R. 1) – Delbrook Avenue to 130 m north of Delbrook Avenue – Pickering – Lane Restrictions

To facilitate construction of a right turn lane into Ecole Ronald-Marion School lane restrictions will be required. Work commenced the week of July 21 and is expected to be completed by mid-August.


Rossland Road East (D.R.R. 28) – Simcoe Street North to Ritson Road North – Oshawa – Lane Restrictions

To facilitate road resurfacing and replacement of deficient sections of curb & gutter lane restrictions will be required. Work will commence the week of August 4 and is expected to be completed by mid – August.


Courtice Road (D.R.R. 34) – George Reynolds Drive to north of Pebblestone Road – Clarington – Lane & Road Closures

To facilitate road rehabilitation, widening and storm sewer installation lane restrictions and road closures will be required. Work will commence August 4 and is expected to be completed mid-October. A full closure will be required for up to 5 days between George Reynolds Drive and Holyrod Drive to facilitate installation of a storm sewer, date is yet to be determined.


Bloor Street East (D.R.R. 22) – At Albert Street – Oshawa – Road Closure

There will be a full road closure along Bloor Street at Albert Street on August 7 – 8.  The entire section between Simcoe Street and Ritson Road will be affected.


Brock Street North (Durham Highway 12) & Taunton Road (D.R.R. 4) – Whitby –Lane Restrictions

The facilitate road widening, construction of channelized islands, sidewalk improvements and traffic signal relocation lane restrictions will be required. At least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times although turning restrictions may be required during channelized island construction and paving operations. Work will commence June 16 and is expected to be completed by the end of August.


Harmony Road North (D.R.R. 33) & Conlin Road East – Oshawa – Road Closures

To facilitate roadway reconstruction, widening and traffic signal installation Harmony Road and Conlin Road will be closed in stages commencing June 2.  There will be five road closure stages they are as follows:

  • Stage One – Harmony Road south of Conlin
  • Stage Two – Conlin Road west of Harmony
  • Stage Three – Conlin Road east of Harmony
  • Stage Four – The intersection of Conlin Road and Harmony Road
  • Stage Five – Harmony Road north of Conlin

The project is currently in Stage One. The project is expected to be completed by December 2014.  Detour routes will be posted for all stages of construction.


Bloor Street East (D.R.R. 22) – Albert Street to Ritson Road (D.R.R. 16) – Oshawa – Road and Lane Closures

To facilitate road widening and reconstruction, sidewalk reconstruction, traffic signal replacement and watermain construction both lane and road closures will be required. During later stages of construction Bloor Street will be closed  in the eastbound direction with only one westbound lane of traffic. There will also be shorter duration closures (approximately 3 days) of the Highway 401 ramp and Ritson Road both north and south of Bloor Street. Work will commence May 12 and is expected  to be completed by July of 2015.  Pedestrian access along one side of Bloor Street will be maintained at all times.


Brock Road (D.R.R. 1) – Hwy. 401 to Kingston Road – Pickering – Lane Restrictions

The facilitate road widening and resurfacing, construction of a multi-use path and traffic signal modifications Brock Road will experience lane restrictions during construction. Work will commence May 12 and is expected to be completed  by Mid-September.


Kingston Road (Reg. Hwy 2) – Harwood Avenue to Salem Road – Ajax – Lane Restrictions

Kingston Road is being widened between Harwood Avenue and Salem Road to provide exclusive bus and bicycle lanes. Work commenced in the beginning of April and is expected to be completed by July.


Whites Road (D.R.R. 38) – Granite Court to Hwy 401 – Pickering – Lane restrictions

To facilitate the reconstruction of a railway bridge and road rehabilitation lane closures will be required. Work commenced at the beginning of April and is expected to be completed by December 2014.


Charles Street, Front Street East and West (local roads) – south of Watson Street and west of Brock Street – Whitby – Road Closures

To facilitate road reconstruction, sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer , curb & gutter and sidewalk replacement Charles Street and Front Street will be closed (resident and business access to be maintained). Work commenced April 7 and is expected to be completed by the end of summer.


Finch Avenue (D.R.R. 37) - Pickering - Westbound Road Closure

To facilitate construction of the South East Collector Trunk Sewer from York Region, Finch Avenue will be closed to westbound traffic between Valley Farm Road and Brock Street (resident access only westbound between Guild Road and Brock Road). Finch Avenue will be closed to westbound traffic commencing October 1 until further notice. Detour routing will be posted.
