Note - The Region of Durham does not collect these items in the City of Oshawa and Town of Whitby. Please contact your local municipality for more information or bring your material directly to the waste management facility (standard fees apply).

Bulky Goods

Suitable Bulky Goods

Bulky Goods are considered garbage items that typically don't fit into a standard garbage bag and exceed the weight and size limits of regular bi-weekly collection. They include, but are not limited to:

Furniture such as:

  • Couch
  • Table
  • Desk
  • Chair /highchair
  • Dresser
  • Armoire
  • Chest
  • Computer tables
  • Mattress
  • Box spring
  • Crib and mattress
  • Cabinets

Outdoor items such as:

  • Sports equipment
  • Lawn furniture and planters

Townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge Curbside Collection Service

Bulky goods will be collected by appointment only. To arrange for collection, call 1-800-667-5671. There is a limit of two (2) bulky items per bi-weekly collection.

These materials will not be collected by the regular garbage truck. Bulky goods will be landfilled.

Municipality of Clarington Curbside Collection Service

City of Pickering and Town of Ajax Curbside Collection Service

Bulky goods will be collected on a biweekly basis with the regular garbage collection (No appointment required). There is a limit of two (2) bulky items per bi-weekly collection.

These materials will be collected by the regular garbage truck and be sent to landfill.
