As a part of Durham Vision Zero, Durham Region is making bicycle crossings easier and safer for cyclists, drivers and pedestrians by installing crossrides along multi-use path routes at intersections throughout the region. In support of Durham Vision Zero, the Region has introduced a new all-way stop at Cameron Street and Laidlaw Street in Cannington (Township of Brock) to improve roadway safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

The Region of Durham is planning a Mixed Waste Pre-Sort and Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Facility to convert organic waste like food scraps into a renewable natural gas that will be used to heat homes and power natural gas barbeques and vehicles.
