Planning for the future: how do you Envision Durham?

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham’s Planning Division today launched Envision Durham, the Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR) of the Durham Regional Official Plan (ROP).
By the year 2041, Durham Region’s population is expected to grow to 1.2 million people, with more than 430,000 jobs. Envision Durham is looking at:
- How and where our cities and towns may grow.
- How to use and protect our land and resources.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Regional Council has approved the 2019 water supply and sanitary sewerage business plans and budgets. These budgets are funded by user rates—not property taxes—and support the maintenance and operations of the Region’s water and sewer systems.

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham, along with the Municipality of Clarington, City of Oshawa and Town of Whitby are asking the Province to reaffirm its commitment to extend GO Train service east to Oshawa and Bowmanville. Regional Council approves 2019 water and sewer use rates

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Regional Council has approved the 2019 water and sanitary sewer user rates, with a combined increase of 1.8 per cent, or $4.32 per quarterly billing ($17.28 per year) for the average Durham Region household.
