Lane restrictions on Victoria Street/Bloor Street at Thornton Road South

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise the public of lane restrictions on Victoria Street/Bloor Street (Regional Road 22), around the intersection of Thornton Road South, in Oshawa/Whitby.

 

 

WHEN:

Work is underway, and is expected to be complete by early December. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Don’t flush wipes into the pipes!

Whitby, Ontario  –

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Departmentwould like to remind residents that bathroom wipes—which are marketed as an alternative to toilet paper and advertised as ?ushable—should be disposed of in the garbage, rather than being flushed down the toilet. Baby wipes, mopping wipes and sanitizing cleaning wipes should also be disposed of in the garbage only.

 

The Region’s sanitary sewer system is not designed to dispose of anything beyond human waste, toilet paper...

Donate household items to charity at Reuse Days

Whitby, Ontario  –

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is encouraging residents to drop off reusable items, free of charge, at Reuse Days. The items will be donated to Habitat for Humanity ReStores (Ajax, Oshawa and Uxbridge locations), Diabetes Canada and the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

Construction to close West Shore Boulevard in Pickering

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that construction will close West Shore Boulevard, from Breezy Drive to Vicki Drive in Pickering, for approximately four weeks.

 

 

WHEN:

September 18 until approximately October 16. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Region of Durham to host 44th annual auction

Whitby, Ontario –

Local residents and business owners that are looking for office materials, maintenance supplies, mechanical equipment, and vehicles are invited to visit the Durham Region annual auction.

 

 

WHEN:

Auction items can be previewed on Friday, September 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. On Saturday, September 30, the gates will open at 8 a.m., with the auction beginning at 9:30 a.m.
