Dylan’s EV Journey
On Influence…
Range, technology and market leadership. I had owned a Chevrolet Volt before buying my Tesla in early 2020 and was unimpressed by the dealer knowledge and support.
I also feel that Tesla will hold its value the best and that they will continue to lead the market in autonomous driving
It really was a combination of things. I like the environmental aspect, but the biggest driver was to save money on gas and not be subject to wild swings in fuel prices.
Any advice for potential EV drivers, John?
If you drive a lot, it is hands down cheaper than gas even if the car costs more upfront.
You probably don’t need as much range as you think you need. Every morning you start the day with a full “tank”. I have only had to worry about charging away from home a small handful of time.
And what about encouraging greater EV uptake?
Upfront cost, still too much math to do the breakeven math.
Special overnight charging rates for EV owners.
On barriers to purchase….
Getting over the fact that range anxiety isn’t really a concern and installing home charging. There is a significant upfront expense.
