Whitby, Ontario – Parents and caregivers are invited to attend free virtual workshops hosted by Durham Behaviour Management Services. These upcoming workshops will cover behaviour-related topics to help parents/caregivers gain understanding and learn strategies to help manage challenging behaviour.
When:
- Understanding Your Child’s Behaviour
- January 18 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
- Discover what influences a child’s behaviour, gain strategies to decrease challenging behaviours and learn when behaviours require intervention.
- Working Through Anxiety in Children and Caregivers
- February 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Learn about anxiety and worry, how they may present in children’s behaviour and gain strategies to help manage it.
- Behaviour Talk
- March 2 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
- This is an opportunity for parents/caregivers to ask questions about their child’s behaviour—such as, “why does my child not go to sleep?” or “why is my child not listening to me?”—and receive helpful answers from behaviour consultants.
- Distractible Child
- May 3, 10, 17 and 31, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
- This four-part series will explore underlying reasons for distractible behaviour, offer helpful strategies, tips to teach attention and impulse control and more.
Where: Workshops hosted by Durham Behaviour Management Services are held virtually via Microsoft Teams due to COVID-19 physical distancing measures.
Why: Behaviour Management Services provides behaviour supports to children, parents and educators in licensed child care.
