Daily Physical Activity (DPA)

DPA ensures that students have at least of 20 minutes of sustained moderate to vigorous physical activity at school daily.

Regular physical activity can help children and youth improve their health and fitness and:

  • do better in school by improving memory, concentration and attention span
  • feel happier
  • have fun playing with friends
  • maintain a healthy body weight
  • improve their self confidence and self esteem
  • grow stronger
  • learn new skills

Positive experience with physical activity at a young age helps to ensure that children have the foundation they need to be physically active for life.
