Garbage and Bulky Goods Collection for Apartments and Townhouses

All buildings receiving municipal waste collection services are listed under Apartments and Townhouses Serviced in Durham Region.

Durham Region provides all waste collection at properties it services in the City of Pickering, Town of Ajax, Townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge and the Municipality of Clarington. Durham Region provides recycling collection only at the properties it services in the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby. The City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby provide multi-residential garbage and bulky goods collection services to the properties in their respective municipalities.

PLEASE NOTE, that apartments and townhouses, receiving municipal waste collection service in the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby, should contact their respective municipal office for information on garbage and bulky goods collection service. The Region of Durham is responsible for the Blue Box Recycling collection only at sites in Whitby and Oshawa.

Multi-Residential Bulky Goods Collection

Collection of bulky goods, which includes furniture, appliances, mattresses and other large household items, requires a scheduled pick-up by appointment only. Refer to the chart below, based on the location of your building, for whom to contact:

The Region's three Waste Management Facilities are open year round to accept waste electronics, scrap metal, renovation materials and paints, stains and other Municipal Hazardous and Special Wastes. No green bin or yard waste organics collection is available at multi-residential properties in Durham Region at this time. All organics are collected with residual waste by the Region of Durham.
