Whitby, Ontario – Efforts to grow para sport opportunities and participation in Durham Region can now receive funding as a legacy of the Durham Region 2023 Ontario Parasport Games.
The Regional Municipality of Durham has partnered with Durham Community Foundation (DCF) to launch two funds to support the growth of diverse para sport and recreation opportunities in our local communities.
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham has been ranked among Canada’s top 20 locations to invest in 2024 by Site Selection Magazine, an internationally circulated publication for corporate real estate and economic development.
The ranking is based on factors like capital investment and job creation on a cumulative and per-capita basis.

The IEDC has awarded Durham Region’s Economic Development and Tourism division (Invest Durham) one of its 2024 Excellence in Economic Development Awards.
Whitby, Ontario – Business leaders in North Durham are encouraged to register for the north Durham Building Business Forum. The event is hosted by the Region of Durham’s Economic Development Division (Invest Durham), in partnership with the Townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge and the Brock Board of Trade and North Durham Chamber of Commerce.
The Region of Durham boasts a thriving agriculture sector that includes apple production. It’s one of the largest apple producing regions in the province with 13 per cent of Ontario’s apples produced in Durham Region and 2,100 acres of apple orchards in production.
