Gather at the Farm Contest

Eligibility
External promotions are open to all residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) age 18 years and older, with the exception of elected officials and employees of The Regional Municipality of Durham, and any of the sponsoring companies or affiliated companies. This includes their immediate families, cohabitants, agents or contractors. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Regional Municipality of Durham reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of The Regional Municipality of Durham will be final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal. No purchase is necessary. The contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein. By entering and/or accepting a prize, the entrants agree to irrevocably attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.
Contest details
Entrants may submit an entry by visiting a participating farm and completing an online ballot form between October 1, 2024 at 12:00am and October 31, 2024 at 11:59pm. Entrants will be automatically entered to win a getaway in Port Perry (one gift card for two nights’ accommodation at Piano Inn, one $50 gift card for Pantry Shelf Café and Bakery, one $50 gift card for Piano Inn Café, one $100 gift card for Marwan's Global Bistro, and one $100 gift card for Pickles and Olives Bistro). No purchase is required. One winner will be selected. There is a total of one prize to be won. One entry per entrant per day only. The contest closes on October 31, 2024 at 11:59pm. The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received before the deadline. The draw will take place November 4, 2024 at 1pm. The winner will be contacted via email.
The odds of winning are dependent on the number of eligible entries received. Following the deadline, the selected entrant will be notified by Regional staff at the email provided by the entrant. Selected entrant must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question to become an official winner and claim the prize. Winner will be contacted by 4pm on November 4, 2024. Prizes must be claimed via email by November 11, 2024 and picked up in person at Durham Region Headquarters at 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby, Ontario by November 22, 2024.
Entries
No purchase necessary. One entry per person, per farm, per day. Use of any automated system to submit entries is prohibited and will result in disqualification.
The Regional Municipality of Durham holds the right to disqualify entries that in its sole and absolute discretion it deems inappropriate content. Entries disqualified for inappropriate or offensive content will disqualify the entrant from further participation in the contest.
Entries received before October 1, 2024 at 12:00am or after October 31, 2024 at 11:59pm are ineligible and will be disqualified.
Judging and Publication
All entries must be submitted to The Regional Municipality of Durham by October 31, 2024 at 11:59pm in order to be eligible for participation. The winner will be announced by November 4, 2024 at 4pm.Following the deadline, the winner will be notified by email. One winner will be chosen based on random selection. The winners’ name may be published across The Regional Municipality of Durham’s social media channels and other marketing publications. The Regional Municipality of Durham reserves the non-exclusive right to publish any entry and/or use any entry in promotional and advertising materials. The Region reserves the right to request promotional rights from the entrant for the purposes of additional marketing.
If a selected entrant(s): (i) cannot be contacted within five (5) business days,(ii) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, (iii) fails to provide proof of eligibility satisfactory to The Regional Municipality of Durham, upon request and in the sole discretion of The Regional Municipality of Durham, and/or (iv) fails to claim the prize by the deadline noted above, the selected entrant(s) will be disqualified and forfeit the prize. The Regional Municipality of Durham reserves the right to select an alternate entrant from the remaining eligible entries. The prizes must be accepted “as is” and The Regional Municipality of Durham reserves the right to substitute the prize.
Responsibility
The Regional Municipality of Durham, all of its successor corporations and entities and their respective past, present and future elected and appointed officials, officers, representatives, employees, servants, agents, and their respective successors, assigns, heirs and administrators shall not be held responsible for any injuries, loss or damages of any kind, direct or indirect, with respect to or arising in any way from the contest, including but not limited to (i) participation in any events listed in the Gather at the Farm promotion, (ii) use of facilities, premises or equipment, (iii) entries that are lost, damaged, or delayed during transportation, and (iv) any problems or technical malfunctions of computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software or any email, online or internet entry lost due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or social media platform or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or property related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion.
By entering the contest, each entrant consents to The Regional Municipality of Durham collecting, using and disclosing the personal information submitted with the entry for the purposes of administering the contest and notifying selected entrant(s) and winner(s) in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. M.56, as amended.
Copyright Notice
With regard to any photograph(s) submitted to a social media promotion, the entrant, or the owner of copyright in the photograph, retains copyright. By submitting any photograph to a social media promotion, the entrant grants (or warrant that the owner of such materials expressly grants) The Regional Municipality of Durham a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotional materials including its social media platforms and website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to The Regional Municipality of Durham publications. The Regional Municipality of Durham will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses. Winning entrants are required to sign a release containing the above conditions. |
