Put the "OOO" in Out of Office at a Nordic spa village

Unplug and unwind by checking into Whitby’s Thermëa Spa Village. Enter a world where the deadlines and expense reports on your to do list are replaced by visits to the sauna, refreshing cold plunges, and relaxing by the fire. Indulge in farm-to-fork fare at an on-site restaurant. We recommend booking your visit to Thermëa in advance.

Get our itinerary recommendations and block off a day for visiting the spa now.

Take it offline for the day and take in some art IRL

Don’t let their email find you. The only thing you’ll need your phone for is selfies in that just-right museum lighting. Wander through The Robert McLaughlin Gallery and take in the thoughtfully curated exhibitions and beautiful architecture. Afterwards, put a pin in all your responsibilities and cozy up at a local cafe or cocktail bar.

This meeting could have been a morning on the slopes

Spend your day carving up the slopes at Brimacombe and circle back on that meeting you missed tomorrow. Leave your phone behind in the chalet and enjoy the fresh air and the views from the ski lift. After a day outside, get warmed up at local pub Walsh’s Snug for some après ski vibes and Irish pub classics.

For the 'gram

Head to Goodwood for a familiar setting for any Schitt’s Creek fans, but also for some of the tastiest baked goods around at Annina’s Bakeshop. Enjoy a winter hike at Trail Hub* where the views are too good not to share. End your day at Deer Creek** by enjoying dinner in one of their dining domes.

*Trail Hub is closed on Mondays

**Booking ahead is recommended

Winter's not your thing

Start your indoor adventure with an afternoon tasting at Durham Distillery and find your new favourite spirit or cocktail inspiration. Next up, a late lunch at Sauter’s Inn* for hearty German fare like schnitzel and spätzle in Pickering Village. Spend your evening working on your aim with a game of archery or ping pong at Archer’s Battlefield.

*Sauter’s Inn is closed Mondays

Small town charm

Pack up your skates and head to Port Perry Harbour for some outdoor skating*. Warm up inside at The Pantry Shelf Cafe with one of their sandwich combos. No visit to Port Perry is complete without a visit to Hank’s Pastries** for one of their as-big-as-your-head apple fritters or Old Flame Brewing Co for an award-winning lager.

*Weather dependent

**Hank's Pastries is closed on Mondays

Good old-fashioned fun

Not a skier/snowboarder, but after some fast-paced fun? No problem. Bundle up and visit Ski Lakeridge* for snow tubing! After all that heart-pounding fun, sit down for a meal in Wixan’s Bridge in Uxbridge. You’ll be just in time to see one of the new releases at The Roxy Theatre before calling it a night.

*Snow tubing is closed on Mondays and Tuesday
