Experience the many adventures throughout Durham during the frosty days of winter. From snowshoeing on our trails, hockey and leisure skating, to skiing or snowboarding on our slopes, there is something for everyone.

Skiing and Snowboarding

Durham Region has three outstanding ski and snowboard adventure destinations for you to enjoy.

For more than 85 years, Brimacombe ski area has welcomed families to its slopes, offering fun and affordable skiing and snowboarding for "kids" of all ages!

Dagmar Ski Resort's scenic slopes provide a fun and exciting learning experience for all with Durham Region's largest terrain park!

Nestled in the beautiful Oak Ridges Moraine, Lakeridge Ski Resort offers year-round fun for everyone!

Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

  • Durham Forest: more than 16 kilometres of trails in four marked loops (Uxbridge)
  • Heber Down Conservation Area: snowshoeing on five kilometres of trails (Whitby)
  • Darlington Provincial Park: snowshoe to a scenic lookout over Lake Ontario (Bowmanville)
  • Enniskillen Conservation Area: 5.5 kilometres of trails (Clarington)
  • Long Sault Conservation Area: 18 kilometres or trails (Bowmanville)
  • Greenwood Conservation Area (Ajax)
  • Trans-Canada Trail Claremont (Claremont)
  • Trail Hub: A dedicated three-kilometre snowshoeing loop (Uxbridge)

Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks

Lace up your skates! Durham Region has many outdoor ice rinks for you to enjoy this winter.

Important: Check the rink status before you go to ensure it’s open. Ice-making and maintenance are weather-dependent. Please remember to respect the health and safety rules of any venue or facility you visit.
