Celebrate The Season At These Santa Claus Parades In Durham Region

Santa Claus is coming to town! Bundle up and enjoy the magic of the season at one of Santa’s many visits across Durham Region. There's a full lineup of parades set to spread festive cheer, and visits by parade goers can also mean a thriving holiday season for local merchants with stops at shops and restaurants along the parade route. This beloved tradition features a festive street procession and is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.

Beaverton Lions Santa Claus Parade

When: November 15 at 7 p.m.

Where: Beaverton Fair Grounds

Visit the downtown stores for their annual Christmas Open House, starting at 6 p.m., followed by the Beaverton Lions Santa Claus Parade at 7 p.m. and a visit with Santa at the Beaverton Fire Hall. The parade will leave the Beaverton Fair Grounds travelling along Main Street to Simcoe Street, to Osborne Street to Bay Street, and continue to the Fair Grounds. Following the parade, kids can enjoy a visit with Santa at the Beaverton Fire Hall with hot chocolate and treats.

Bowmanville Santa Claus Parade

When: November 16 at 10:30 a.m.

Where: King Street, Bowmanville

Celebrate the spirit of the holiday season. The annual Bowmanville Santa Claus Parade takes place annually on the third Saturday of every November and hopes to bring some holiday cheer to you and your family. Don’t forget your letters for Santa and non-perishable food donations being collected by the Salvation Army.

Uxbridge Santa Claus Parade

When: November 16 at 11 a.m.

Where: Brock Street, Uxbridge

Enjoy a day of festive cheer at the Uxbridge Santa Claus Parade! Uxbridge parade-goers will have a chance to vote for their favourite parade entry in this year’s Santa Claus Parade. The inaugural “People’s Choice Award” will be given to the parade entry which receives the most votes following the parade.

Oshawa Santa Claus Parade of Lights

When: November 16 at 6 p.m.

Where: Bond Street West, Oshawa

As a nighttime tradition, the Oshawa Santa Claus Parade of Lights has become one of the biggest must-dos of the entire year. The 2024 parade is back with a new route—kicking off at Division Street and travelling westbound from Bond Street to Gibbons Street. Get ready to line the streets for plenty of music, dancing and cheer!

Newcastle Santa Parade

When: November 17 at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Downtown Newcastle

Join the Village of Newcastle BIA as Santa makes a magical visit at the nighttime Newcastle Santa Parade! Enjoy a wonderful evening with a fireworks display and a procession of marching bands, clowns and beautiful light up floats that children of all ages can enjoy.

Pickering Santa Claus Parade

When: November 23 at 10 a.m.

Where: Dixie Road and Glenanna Road, Pickering

Celebrate the highly anticipated return of the Pickering Santa Claus Parade! With extravagant floats from Pickering businesses and community groups, marching bands, and Santa Claus himself, the Santa Claus Parade is the spectacle to kick off everyone’s holiday season. The parade will begin at Dixie and Glenanna and end in Pickering’s City Centre. Be sure to mark your calendars now to enjoy this joyous celebration that will impress all ages!

Ajax Santa Claus Parade & Spectacle of Lights

When: November 23 at 6 p.m.

Where: Bayly Street and Harwood Avenue South, Ajax

Santa is coming to Town! Ajax residents and visitors are invited to participate in a family-friendly evening of fun and entertainment at the annual Ajax Santa Claus Parade! Following the parade, head to the Ajax Town Hall and Ajax Public Library (Main Branch) for the annual tree lighting and after parade festivities. Help support the community by bringing a donation for the Toy and Food Drive!

Cannington Lions Santa Claus Parade

When: November 30 at 11 a.m.

Where: Cameron Street, Cannington

Get ready for a day of festive fun at the Cannington Lions Santa Claus Parade! This year’s theme is a Hogwarts Christmas—Hogwarts awaits, magic is near, be good for the holiday cheer! Kids can visit with Santa at the Cannington Fire Hall immediately after the parade. Brock Township will be collecting food donations for the food bank and kids can visit with Santa at the Cannington Fire Hall immediately after the parade.

THEE Farmers’ Parade of Lights

When: December 4 at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Old Scugog Rd & Concession 9, Clarington

THEE Farmers Parade of Lights is a festive celebration that travels across the communities of Tyrone, Haydon, Enniskillen, and Enfield in the Municipality of Clarington. Starting north of Enniskillen and ending in Tyrone, enjoy a fantastic display of lights as tractors, trucks and floats parade through Clarington’s beautiful countryside at night. Guests are encouraged to pack a blanket, warm drinks, and bring a non-perishable food item for the Food Drive.

Whitby Santa Claus Parade

When: December 7 from 10 a.m. to noon

Where: Brock Street North, Whitby

The Whitby Santa Claus Parade has been held on the first Saturday of December for 50+ years! An event for all ages, the Whitby Santa Claus Parade showcases more than 50 organizations’ holiday spirit as they walk along the Brock Street parade route. Guests are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to sit on, non-perishable food donations, snacks and warm drinks, and of course—a letter for Santa!

Courtice Santa Claus Parade

When: December 7 at noon

Where: Nash Road, Courtice

Enjoy festive floats, a marching band, and creative performances at the Courtice Santa Claus Parade! The parade offers a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community and spread joy. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and warm beverages, and watch the streets as they fill with holiday cheer!

Scugog Santa Claus Parade

When: December 7 at 5 p.m.

Where: Fair Grounds to Palmer Park, Port Perry

Celebrate the enchantment of the holiday season at the Scugog Santa Claus Parade with the magical theme of Santa’s Workshop! Enjoy an unforgettable evening filled with festive delights, including over 40 floats, vibrant marching bands, captivating live entertainment, and a special appearance by none other than Santa Claus himself. With a history of record attendance year after year, this beloved community event is free to attend and promises to bring holiday cheer.

Sunderland Santa Claus Parade

When: December 14 at 7 p.m.

Where: Sunderland Brock Memorial Arena (20 Park Street, Sunderland)

Start at the Sunderland Memorial Arena and travel through the streets with Santa at the Sunderland Santa Claus Parade! Guests are encouraged to bring a bag from home to collect candies throughout the festivities.
