Durham Region is advising residents of lane restrictions on Townline Road North and temporary water pressure fluctuations in the Municipality of Clarington and City of Oshawa on November 4 and 5 to complete watermain repairs.

The Region of Durham is advising residents of impacts to Regional programs and services in observance of Remembrance Day. 

Road closure planned on Regional Road 8 in Uxbridge from November 2 to 5, 2026, to support the replacement of twin culverts, ditching improvements and asphalt resurfacing near Concession Road 5. This work is required to complete urgent repairs and maintain a safe roadway for road users and construction crews, and drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and expect delays.

Respiratory illness season has arrived, and Durham Region Health Department encourages area residents to protect themselves and their loved ones by getting free respiratory vaccines that are now available in Durham Region.

This time of year brings shorter days and darker commutes, resulting in reduced visibility on our roadways. The highest number of collisions involving pedestrians and cyclists are between October and December. We all need to be extra cautious and practice road safety as darkness comes earlier.

Durham Region is advising residents of lane restrictions on Lake Ridge Road in the Town of Ajax and Town of Whitby from October 26 to November 30 for road resurfacing. 

Upcoming lane restrictions from October 26 to November 20 on Simcoe Street North, from Glovers Road to Niagara Drive, in the City of Oshawa. Lane restrictions will be in place to safely allow for the relocation of Enbridge Gas infrastructure in preparation for a pending Region capital works project.

The Regional Municipality of Durham is continuing construction for the Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit (DSBRT) project on Kingston Road (Durham Regional Highway 2) at intersections between Rotherglen Road and Galea Drive in the Town of Ajax. 

Durham Region is advising residents of lane restrictions at the intersection of Westney Road and Concession Road 6 in the City of Pickering from October 20 until November 15.
