Introduction

As the Service System Manager (SSM) for employment services in Durham region, The Regional Municipality of Durham oversees the operation of local Employment Services Providers. Serving both job seekers and employers, the Region of Durham is leading the Employment Services Transformation (EST) by providing the community with locally responsive employment programs and services.

Durham Region Employment Services provides support for anyone who may be facing unemployment, individuals looking for employment who may have disabilities or experience barriers, and those considering a career change. We focus on providing tailored assistance, skill development and guidance to empower both job seekers and employers. The goal is to create more meaningful roles within our community that contribute to a sustainable and inclusive workforce.

Working with community partners and local Employment Services Providers, we will address the diverse needs within Durham region and promote ongoing growth and prosperity. We strive to create a resilient employment services landscape that benefits both individuals and our communities in the long term.
