The Region of Durham Child Care and Early Years division would like to continue to build capacity across the early learning and care sector so that educators feel confident, capable, and informed in supporting all children, including those with varying abilities and needs. The team is looking to develop and distribute online self-paced trainings that will enable educators working in licensed child care centres to better support all children and their families through increased awareness of available supports and resources.

Type of Collaboration: An unpaid practicum/ placement student hosted at the Region
Anticipated Outcome: The team aims to develop online self-paced training modules that will speak to the following topics:
- The five Special Needs Resourcing agencies available for support in licensed child-care centres in Durham,
- Universal Design and Disability Theory, and
- General inclusive practices and related legislation (i.e., human rights and accessibility).
The student will primarily be responsible for completing a literature scan and recommending content for the online training modules.
Deliverables: A Literature Scan to help with the development of online learning modules.
Timeline: 4 months
