Join us in recognizing the wide range of essential services provided by the Region’s Works Department as we celebrate National Public Works Week on Saturday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year, we are offering free in-person events at the Scugog Depot, Duffin Creek Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) and Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC). The Scugog Depot, located at 10 Goodwood Road in Port Perry, will have a public works vehicle display and a vehicle simulator. Children are welcome! The open house event at the Durham York Energy Centre, located at 1835 Energy Drive in Courtice, will include a garbage truck on display, information booths, a waste sorting game and a children's area with activity books, button making and temporary tattoos. Fun for the whole family! In addition to the open house events, tours will be held at the Duffin Creek Water Pollution Control Plant and the Durham York Energy Centre.
