Use of Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence Technology in Long-Term Care Staff Training

The Region of Durham’s Long-Term Care (LTC) & Services for Seniors Division would like to explore how Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be utilized to provide tailored training and increase the quality of care in LTC homes. This project would examine what trainings can be tailored and what available technologies exist that are cost effective and easily accessible.

 Anticipated Outcome: Data analysis and a jurisdictional/ literature scan exploring how VR and AI can be utilized for training, resulting in a positive increase in the quality indicators, and increased staff and resident satisfaction.
