Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is asking residents in Newcastle and Newtonville to conserve water on the evening of October 23, as the Works Department undergoes maintenance work at the Newcastle Water Supply Plant (WSP). Residents should refrain from indoor and outdoor non-essential water use during this time.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to remind residents to keep the health and safety of waste collection operators in mind when they set out their waste for curbside collection.

Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department was advised by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) of the presence of a blue-green algal bloom in small area of the southwest portion of Frenchman’s Bay, near Sunrise Ave., in Pickering. Laboratory test results were received from the MECP on Oct. 11.
