Road closure on Liberty Street North in Bowmanville

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure on Liberty Street North (Regional Road 14) in Bowmanville.

When: April 28 to July 30. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Where: Liberty Street North, from Pamela Court to Sydel Court, in the community of Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington.

Why: The road closure is in place for the construction of two new watermains. Traffic will be detoured for the duration of the work. Detour...

Spring into action: updated waste collection schedule for Easter week

Whitby, Ontario – As the Easter holidays approach, the Region of Durham has some important updates to ensure a smooth waste collection experience for residents.

When and where: Ajax, Brock, Clarington, Pickering, Scugog and Uxbridge.

Residents who normally receive waste collection on Fridays are reminded that due to Good Friday, waste collection will take place on Saturday, April 19 instead.

Environment Days are back!

Whitby, Ontario – Mark your calendar and join us for Environment Days. The Region of Durham, in partnership with the area municipalities, is inviting residents to drop off items for reuse, recycling and safe disposal.

When and where:

• Saturday, April 26 from 8 a.m. to noon (rain or shine), Ajax Operations Centre, 800 Salem Road North, Ajax

Lane restrictions on Regional Road 13 in Brock

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions on Regional Road 13 in the Township of Brock.

When: The week of April 21 to June. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Where: Regional Road 13 from 730 metres east of Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) to 810 metres west of Sideroad 17 in the Township of Brock.

Give your batteries new life: Recycle your batteries during the week of April 28

Whitby, Ontario – Don't let your old batteries go to waste! The Region of Durham is calling on residents to recycle their used household batteries by placing them on top of their closed Green Bin during collection days the week of April 28.

When: Spring battery collection occurs from April 28 to May 2 on Green Bin collection days.

Where: Households across Durham Region who currently receive curbside collection services.
