Upcoming lane restrictions on Winchester Road in Whitby

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions on Winchester Road in the Town of Whitby.

When: From March 4 until July 2024. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Winchester Road, between Durham Street and Watford Street/Anderson Street, in Whitby.

Why: To safely construct temporary traffic signals and roadway illumination in preparation for the reconstruction of Winchester Road.

Free tax filing help is available to residents living with low income

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region residents who earn a low income, or who have no income, can get help with filing their taxes for free. Through tax filing, eligible residents can access benefits and credits that could put money in their pockets and help cover basic needs. Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham has installed roundabouts across the region as part of the Durham Vision Zero Strategic Road Safety Action Plan. Roundabouts are designed to maximize safety and minimize delay, while reducing emissions and fuel consumption.

Weight restriction season on Regional roads begins March 1

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham and local area municipalities restrict the operation of motor vehicles on designated roads during the spring weight restriction season, as per the Highway Traffic Act and Regional By-law 26-2018. This affects vehicles that are heavier than 5,000 kilograms or five tonnes per axle.

When: March 1 to April 30. The final day may be adjusted following periodic reviews of road and weather conditions at the end of weight restriction season.

Online meeting for community housing redevelopment projects in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham, in partnership with Durham Regional Local Housing Corporation (DRLHC) and Infrastructure Ontario, is revitalizing two DRLHC properties located at Malaga Road and Christine Crescent in the City of Oshawa.
